Reykjavik, Iceland - okt. 2012

Reykjavik is by far the largest community in Iceland. Including the neighbouring towns, the area has 60% of the Iceland`s population of total 300 000 people.

The town is a mix of new and old buildings......at first it looked kind of messy and boring.......

but after looking a bit closer.....and the way they had used colour.....don`t forget with the mountains as backdrop... Reykjavik is a very charming town, where you have tourist shops and Icelandic creativity working hand in hand.....

But....well somethimes the colours do get a bit much.. ;-)

Hallgrimskirkja

The Harpa consert & conference hall
And some colours came after dark :-)

I wonder what happened here ;-) I did not dare to find out ;-) hehe

I wonder if this is the latest design ;-)

Well if you put your shoes out here, I don`t think anyone would steal them ;-)
You could also find some fun details if you looked closely ;-)

Hot dog stand at the harbour

Fish with baced potatoes

Hot chocolate cake with cream and ice....yummy
We where looking for places to eat, and where surprised  that among the 5 best places to eat there was a hot dog stand down by the harbour......so of course we had too try it out....and yes they tasted very good.

But the best food we got in Reykjavik was at a beef house ( or rather the best beef we ever had anywhere ), but the fish was exellent to.
So if you ever are going too Reykjavik you have too try Hereford Steak House.. :-)

Balke church in Norway, winter 2012

Balke church lies in Skreia, Østre Toten in Norway. It was buildt in ca.1170. The church has traces of roman, normandie and early goth. You can see it from far away since it is buildt on a hill. So the wiew is absolutely stunning.
Balke is a peaceful place, even thought there is a farm close by. Because it is a little bit of the main road, but there are signs. So it is quite easy too find.
